Multi-channel MAC Protocol in Cognitive Radio Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cognitive radio represents an efficient way to utilize the available spectrum in Wireless networks by offering the unlicensed users (Secondary users) the opportunity to use an available spectrum for the licensed users (Primary users) when they are not active. In this paper, some cognitive MAC protocols are discussed with a brief introduction to Multi Channel MAC protocols.

Multi-channel Medium Access Control Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey
Extensive researches on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been performed and many techniques have been developed for the data link (MAC) layer. Most of them assume single-channel MAC protocols. In the usual dense deployment of the sensor networks, single-channel MAC protocols may be deficient because of radio collisions and limited bandwidth. Hence, using multiple channels can significantly ...

متن کاملA Power Constrained Multi-Channel MAC Protocol for a Cooperative Spectrum Access
The Cognitive Radio (CR) is a recent technology that aims at increasing the spectrum utilization under the current static spectrum management. With appropriate CR MAC protocols, the unlicensed users, also called secondary users (SUs), are able to access the unused portion of spectrum in an opportunistic way. These protocols should also provide a coordinated access between the SUs and protect th...
متن کاملPAD-MAC: Primary User Activity-Aware Distributed MAC for Multi-Channel Cognitive Radio Networks
Cognitive radio (CR) has emerged as a promising technology to solve problems related to spectrum scarcity and provides a ubiquitous wireless access environment. CR-enabled secondary users (SUs) exploit spectrum white spaces opportunistically and immediately vacate the acquired licensed channels as primary users (PUs) arrive. Accessing the licensed channels without the prior knowledge of PU traf...
متن کاملMAC Protocol for CRSN
Cognitive Radio (CR) technology has gained popularity in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) because of scarcity caused by the increase in number of wireless devices and service, and it provides spectrumefficient communication for the resource constrained WSNs. However, appropriate protocols have to be devised to satisfy the requirements of both WSNs and CRs and to enjoy the benefits of cognition in...
